About Me

Lee Mossop

Salford Captain

I feel very fortunate and extremely proud to have been granted this testimonial from the RFL.

I would like to thank my family and friends for all the support they have given to me throughout my career, especially during times of injury, of which there have been a few.

I have had many great coaches who have all helped to mold me into the player and person I am today, for which I am very thankful.

I have been lucky enough to play for my childhood dream team, Wigan Warriors, then onto the Paramatta Eels in the NRL before joining the Salford Red Devils.

I have also represented my country, which will always be the pinnacle of my career.

I owe everything to the sport of Rugby League which has given me and my family memories for life.

I look forward to making many more and hopefully finishing my career by winning more silverware with the Salford Red Devils

Whilst supporting me, you will also be supporting two charities close to my heart -

Hospice at Home West Cumbria and Two Brews, a Voluntary outreach group providing food and warm essentials to rough sleepers, the vulnerable, and the homeless.

Thank you

Huge Congratulations on your well-deserved testimonial Lee “Moose” Mossop!

A pleasure to have played in a successful team at Wigan with you and still be good friends many years after. When I first met Lee I didn’t know what to make of him and I think it was a bit awkward as I was the new lad who played the same position. When I had earned moose’s respect and trust after a few months in we soon became good friends. One of the most honest blokes you’ll meet and a true competitor. Deserves all the credit and success he’s had in his career to date. Sharing 2013 double winners with you was very special and memories for life. I hope everyone gets behind him for the testimonial as he deserves it!

All the best my mate x

Many congratulations on the testimonial Lee.

Not only have I been fortunate enough to play along side him for many years but also made a friend for life. I First meet Lee when he was about 16 when he moved down from Whitehaven to join the academy. I knew of him because of playing against him for school. Lee got injured in one of the games and to this day I’m sure he still holds me responsible for his shoulder injuries and doesn’t fail to remind me. From being young lads you could always tell Lee would play professionally. He was a lot bigger than everyone and lead from the front in the academy and England youth teams. He became a regular in the first team at quite a young age for a front-rower and that’s not easy. Lee’s had to deal with injuries all his career but my memory is when he was ruled out of playing in the 2010 grand final and didn’t play. In 2011 we reached the challenge cup final and won again Lee dislocated his shoulder but managed to play on and get a medal. The way Lee has dealt with his injuries throughout his career, only a few people could have done so. To have had so many re-occurring injuries and come back stronger takes a tough person. In my opinion, after all the injuries he’s probably playing his best now and been the leader of Salford. He’s lead Salford out at old Trafford and Wembley not many people can say that. Mossop has taken all of his best qualities and applied them at Salford and everyone has jumped on board. He deserves to have a great testimonial year and hope everyone gets behind him and supports him !

Congratulations Lee.

I have shared the pitch with moose during my time at Salford Red Devil’s.

He was always a passionate honest leader on & off the field always had time for his team mates and fans.Reflection of his efforts and commitment shows how well Salford have gone the last couple years and his time at wigan. Much deserving of this testimonial I hope all the rugby league family get behind him for all his sacrifices over the years in the game.

All the best bro.
